Land: New simplified toolbar

Land 8.6 has a new interface with it’s more simplified Toolbar. Read on to discover how to use it:

In order to make the program easier and more accessible to all, we have reorganised the upper toolbar by deleting the less used buttons, leaving only the most recurrent ones like Data tree, Properties, Charts, Open map/track, Degrade color track, Track simulation , Search, Buy map etc.

In addition, as a great novelty, the new toolbar includes two new buttons in the central part:

Create and Edit Track

New Waypoint

If you’ve recently discovered Land, these two buttons will be very useful for you to get started and create your first itinerary. If on the contrary, you are a current Land user, don’t worry, with Land 8.6 you can continue creating waypoints and tracks by right clicking on the map as before.

However, if you prefer to display any of the buttons you previously used, Land offers you the possibility to customize the toolbar according to your needs. To add, move or remove any of the buttons, right click on the bar and press ‘Customize’.

Land: Quickly create Roadbook points from the track editor

Haven’t discovered the world of e-Roadbooks yet? Turn your tracks into e-Roadbooks with the Roabook point creation tool. Learn how:

When you edit any of your tracks, remember that from the track editor you can quickly convert them into e-Roadbooks, giving you tracks enriched with all kinds of information like comments, photographs etc. Let us show you how:

1 – Open the track of your last activity.

2 – Click on ‘Edit track’ in the toolbar, located in the upper part of Land.

3 – Click on any point on the track where you want to create an e-Roadbook point. Once selected, press ‘Add e-Roadbook point’ in the vector track editor.

4 – Next, a window will open where you can indicate the basic data of the point you have to mark: name and icon.

5 – Then create the e-Roadbook point in the location you selected. As you can see, in Land 8.6 e-Roadbook points have a round shape, unlike traditional waypoints that have a square shape. This way it’s easier to differentiate between e-Roadbooks and waypoints.

6 – Repeat the same action for each point you want to highlight.

If you want to add more information to your e-Roadbook points, right click on the track and select ‘Edit > Edit e-Roadbook’. A drop-down menu will open where you can add more information to your points like, description, sketches, photographs etc.

Land: Transfer routes to your TwoNav GPS via WiFi

Tired of using cables to connect your GPS to your computer? With this new version of Land 8.6, you can transfer your route to your GPS in one click. Learn how:

With this update you can now send your activities to your GPS without having to connect via a USB cable. Just open the context menu on the route you want to transfer and press ‘Send to > My GPS’. You can do it from the data tree or directly above the element on the map window. Remember that to send your routes via WiFi, your TwoNav GPS must have version TwoNav 4.5 (or higher) and GO must be activated in both Land and GPS.

As of now, when your device has a WiFi connection, it will automatically receive the file (a received file message will appear on the screen). Then, the file will be downloaded automatically and, once complete, will appear open in the list of routes (‘Main menu > Routes’).

If, in addition to Land, you also use the TwoNav GO Platform (go.twonav.com), you can  transfer your routes directly to your GPS via WiFi. Find the route you wish to transfer and just click on ‘Send to GPS’.

Furthermore, if the transferred file is inside a folder, it will also be sent, enabling you to keep the same folder structure.
