The holidays are finally here! With an energetic start, I decide to take my new bike out and enjoy the surrounding nature, taking the opportunity to visit new towns and trails along the way.
First steps… prepare my itinerary with Land, as the last thing I want is to get lost while out cycling. The software has many features and is intuitive to use. I more or less know the area I want to explore, so I mark the waypoints, define the route, then transfer to it to my Trail Bike.
The next morning, I get up at dawn to have an early start to the day, which during the hot summer days is highly recommendable! Making sure I have everything I need to spend a day out in the mountains, I grab my backpack and my Trail Bike. With the easy quick lock, I attach the GPS to my bike and begin my adventure!
What I love most about setting off this early in the morning is the silence and knowing that I have the entire day ahead of me! It’s also slightly cooler during this time of the day. I start pedaling, while my Trail Bike shows me the route that I have to follow. The track takes me to a small town full of colour in which I note a sweet smell of lime… taking me back to my childhood. I decide to keep moving forward, as there is much more to see.
I arrive at a dirt road and Trail Bike automatically displays a map adapted to the new terrain. Now the hard part begins! “Come on Marie, you can do this!”, I tell myself. As I keep going, from time to time I check the data to know the unevenness of the terrain and other values that help me get an idea of what lies ahead.
Suddenly a waypoint warning sounds! My Trail Bike is telling me that I am approaching one of the landmarks that I marked in Land… wasteland in the middle of the mountain. I rest here a few minutes and find a freshwater fountain. The green landscapes surrounding me are spectacular.
While leaving the forest, I approach a crossroad and wonder whether I should turn left or right? Luckily Trail Bike indicates the way and I quickly turn to the left. The last stage of my itinerary is a stoney path, making it difficult to handle the bike, however my GPS withstands the impacts and shaky terrain.
After several hours of pedaling, I can finally see the Romanesque church of Sant Llop d’Hortsavinyà. A few meters away from the church I let my bike rest and I start to walk through a field. The view is amazing from here, where the sea and the mountain come together in the same space!
A feeling of well-being takes over, I can not help but smile and admire the nature that surrounds me… what a wonderful way to spend my day off! Suddenly Trail Bike notifies me that I just synchronized my adventure with GO Cloud. I take advantage of the Wi-Fi connection to analyze the track I recorded from my space in GO. I decide to take the opportunity to share my experience and journey with friends.
I enjoy a few more minutes of the view, and finally I am ready to go home. Tomorrow another adventure!
