Forests reforestation

At TwoNav we know very well about the need to help the environment, being more sustainable and investing in actions that help to improve our planet.

As we saw in March, being sustainable is imperative if we want to safeguard our natural environment. Today, we delve a little deeper into reforestation and initiatives such as Save a Forest, led by our ambassador Albert Bosch.

What is the “reforestation”?

A simple definition is to fill the territory with trees. Only about fifty years ago the forests were much more populated, however the construction of infrastructure, the growth of urban areas and the use of wood for industry penalized them. In the field of agriculture they ran into livestock, or fires or other natural disasters.

Therefore, it is time to take action, bearing in mind that reforesting is not starting to plant seeds on your own, but under specific rules and conditions.

¿Why is it so important?

In the process of photosynthesis carried out by plants and trees Trees use part of the carbon dioxide emitted by our daily activities and convert it into oxygen. We easily see, then, that reforestation is essential for the production of oxygen on our planet and, therefore, the provision of living organisms on it. Trees in wooded areas have the ability to capture and remove polluting particles such as dust, pollen, smoke, and ash that can be harmful to our lungs.

In addition to all this, they also help reduce the greenhouse effect on our planet and trees ensure water conservation and reduce soil erosion. Do not forget, of course, that forests are home to millions of species on our planet. What more reasons do we need to help our forests?

What can I do to help?

You have a multitude of associations and projects with ongoing reforestation campaigns. You can sign up as a volunteer or learn how to plant trees, always under the relevant regulations of each area. Donations are also another good option to help, in our case we have decided to start the “Forest Protector” campaign under the umbrella of the Save a Forest association.
